NYC man uses jeweler's window for proposal

New York—Jewelers seeking an innovative window display idea might find inspiration from a New York City man who made news for arranging flowers and a "Will you marry me?" sign this past weekend in the window of a Manhattan jewelry store.

Tom DeBourcy, 26, took Alex Routenberg, 26, on a stroll past Jeri Cohen Fine Jewelry in Manhattan's upper East Side, where he had arranged for flowers and a "Will you marry me Alexandra?" sign to be displayed, according to a story that appeared in the Sunday edition of the New York Daily News.

DeBourcy then slipped a 2-carat diamond ring onto his fiance's finger, and she said "yes," exclaiming that the diamond engagement ring was beautiful. The couple had gone to high school together outside of Chicago, but lost touch until DeBourcy found Routenberg on Facebook two and a half years ago.

This is not Jeri Cohen Fine Jewelry's only claim to fame. The store has also been featured in the program The Real Housewives of New York, thanks to "housewife" Jill Zarin.
