Top brands switch to Couture show for 2011

New York—Couture, the definitive annual event for upscale retailers, designers and manufacturers of fine jewelry and timepieces held each year at the Wynn Las Vegas, reports a surge in new exhibitors signing on for 2011. From established and iconic brands like Bulgari, Ippolita and Bell and Ross to designers like Harry Kotlar, Jochen Pohl, Links of London and Sethi Couture, an increasing number of heavyweight exhibitors are deciding to move to the Wynn Las Vegas event in 2011 citing the show as the right model for their business success, show organizers said.

Couture organizers said the show has long been viewed as one of the more stable events during the Las Vegas Jewelry Market Week, adding that it has always prided itself on adhering to a simple equation: the best brands, shopped by the best retailers in the best location. Given the ever-changing nature of the retail environment as well as Market Week itself, this stability is proving even more attractive as brands continue to look to Couture as the leading venue to reach their target market, they explained.

"Each of these companies have come to realize that a move to the Couture event offers the optimal environment to showcase their brands and provides them the best opportunity to build and maintain relationships with high-end retailers," said Lee Arevian, Couture’s director of business development.

“More and more of my customers are interested in shopping at Couture, and those that already do plan on concentrating their buying experience exclusively at Couture," agreed Pratima Sethi of Sethi Couture.

Arevian notes that more than 90 percent of the event’s exhibitors choose to exhibit exclusively at Couture, ensuring that it remains the destination for high-end design during Las Vegas Market Week.

“Couture’s extremely high retention rate—both in terms of exhibitors and retailers—speaks for itself,” he said. “Our retailers know that what they see here are companies that deliver superior design, great craftsmanship and a strong history of being able to withstand the ups and downs of the marketplace. There are so many stories of brand and retailer partnerships that span decades.”

Moving into its 16th year, Couture continues to be the industry's benchmark for excellence as it features designs from top international brands as well as the industry’s rising stars, organizers said.
