Sweden -- Emma Wiklund is making her debut as a designer for Lindex with her very own Pink Collection 2009. It consists of easy-to-wear fashion that will be on sale in all Lindex shops from October 1. Ten percent of the sales from the collection will go to the Pink Ribbon campaign run by the Cancer Fund.

- To have the opportunity to design one's own fashion collection is tremendous fun and an exciting challenge. In working on the Pink Collection, I started out from my own personal taste and favourite designs - easy-to-wear clothes that when suitably matched are ideal for both everyday and festive occasions, says Emma Wiklund.

Emma has been involved in the project from start to finish. As far back as February she flew out to India to meet with suppliers and look at fabrics and patterns. She then continued her work back home and is currently putting the finishing touches to her designs before the clothes start to be manufactured. The Pink Collection consists of 14 items - dresses, blouses and accessories. The material is mostly cotton and the clothes are in classical shades such as winter grey, midnight blue, ice and old rose.

Emma Wiklund's assignments at Lindex have varied during the five years that she has worked for the fashion chain, and she has always been committed to the fight against breast cancer. In 2008, she was ambassador for the Cancer Fund's Pink Ribbon campaign.

- To be committed to the breast cancer charity feels both important and natural to me. This is the most common form of cancer in women, striking as many as one in nine women. So it feels really good to be able to contribute to something that finances this important campaign, says Emma Wiklund.

For the seventh year running, Lindex is committing itself to the Cancer Fund's Pink Ribbon campaign as a major sponsor.
