Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry has unveiled its new "I-Gucci" timepiece and special-edition dog tag necklaces featuring the Grammy insignia. Santa Monica, Calif.—Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry has unveiled its first digital timepiece and a selection of new dog tag necklaces, designs which are part of a new special-edition collection benefiting the programs of the Grammy Museum. Designed by Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini, the collection was produced in partnership with The Recording Academy, hosts of the Grammy Awards, the annual celebration of outstanding achievements in the music industry. As announced in September, the Italian design house and The Recording Academy have signed a three-year partnership inspired by the Grammy Awards. Gucci's new digital timepiece, the "I-Gucci," features a double-layout digital display that changes from a two-time zone dial in large digits to a streamlined version with two discreet digital hands revealing local time. The timepiece has a yellow PVD stainless steel case and wide black or white rubber strap sporting both the Grammy and Gucci logos. In addition, the case back features a Grammy Awards special-edition label, and the timepiece is available in a precious version sparkling with diamonds that outline the watch face. In addition to the timepiece, the special-edition collection includes sterling silver jewelry that interprets the iconic Gucci dog tag necklace via four variations with black or white enamel finishing, available with or without diamonds. The Grammy symbol, the famed gramophone, is etched on the dog tag on an 18-karat yellow gold globe, and an engraved Gucci logo completes the overall design. Sales from the collection will help to support the programs of the Grammy Museum, a nonprofit dedicated to the restoration and preservation of milestone musical recordings. Visitors to the Gucci Timepieces Web site, GucciTimepieces.com, will find that a section of the site has been devoted to the Gucci-Grammy partnership and includes information about the music preservation program, the I-Gucci timepiece and more.
