Germany -- In the new round of orders at GDS buyers will once again find a varied range of brands – ranging from progressive and classic premium brands, international, fashion quality brands with broad market acceptance though to high-selling street and sportswear, trendsetters, traditional cult brands and children’s shoe collections.

These include numerous exciting labels like Andrea Catini, Atelier do Sapato, Chibs, Eject Black, Grotesque, Kawasaki, Moschino Uomo, Ilse Jacobsen, Officine Creative, Porsche Design, Post & Co, Radical Boot, Sem Vaccaro, Tiggers Blue, Voile Blanche and 1969. From 11 to 13 September 2009 those visiting the halls of the Düsseldorf exhibition centre will find many other interesting shoe collections plus bags and other accessories for the 2010 Spring/Summer season. Presented below is a small selection of the exciting brands to be found here:
Atelier do Sapato – Vintage and Progress
Designer Rense Hekstra founded the Atelier do Sapato brand together with the owners of a Portuguese shoe factory in 2007. He drew his inspiration for the 2010 Spring/Summer collection from Bedouin culture. Traditional Bedouin clothing style influences his new expressive and elegant styles with layered looks and outer leather featuring creases and gathers. The multi-layered and welt-sewn soles have that used look as if sandblasted in a desert storm. The calfskin suede is as fine as the sand of the Sahara and the matt imitation snakeskin looks as if bleached by the sun. The colour scheme is warm and intense with tones ranges from deep black, midnight blue, dark olive and denim nuances through to warm beige, different sand tones and finally woollen white. The new line presents hand-worked flat or high sandals with cork platform soles as well as desert boots with crepe soles. For this season artist Salimah Gablan has designed a new art campaign for Atelier do Sapato that symbolises the brand’s unique signature style. The creative collages feature imaginative ink drawings inspired by the female form in combination with stills of the new collection. (Hall 4 Stand W38)

Chibs – Futuristic Aspects
Chibs’ target group identifies heavily with brand messages and is called the “Walking Society”. They are young, style-oriented men who attach importance to fashion and comfort. The image of the brand stands for strength, technology, innovation and modernity. With collections that stand for the latest fashion trends the label reflects the need for unique lifestyle and individuality.(Hall 4 Stand B41)

Moschino Uomo – The Search for Lightness
Moschino’s men’s shoe collection for Spring/Summer 2010 represents that search for lightness of foot. At the forefront here are materials and finish, new shapes and structures for sneakers, sandals, moccasins and the entire classical line. The leathers and suedes have a consciously worn look about them, both for sporty and classic styles. The broad colour scheme particularly includes strong aquamarine, yellow, orange as well as classic white, grey, blue and black. Special effects are produced by combining small, coloured details with basic colours. Matt materials like oiled, bycast and calfskin leather and nylon give the collection its deconstructed look. Overall the styles are subtler and less conspicuous. They include details that do not look overloaded but aim to accentuate. With its lines Moschino serves the most

varied of target groups: light casual styles aim to attract a young, fashion-conscious audience. Products with unique details and special features await highly discerning clientele while sporty consumers or stylish urban travellers are catered to with suitable looks in the different concept areas.(Hall 4 Stand W19)

Officine Creative – Classical and Forward-Looking
Founded in 1968 the Italian firm Duca del Nord quickly became one of the most important shoe factories worldwide with shoe production for its own labels and famous brands like Bally, Bruno Magli, Stephane Kèlian, Prada and Jil Sander. 30 years on 1998 saw the arrival of the label Officine Creative on the market – one that has been uniting classical style with forward-looking fashion concepts since then. Here the focus lies on close market tracking, trend orientation and quality materials. Their styles are sold in the most famous shops and department stores the world over. The products set themselves apart with a high-quality and discerning finish. Leathers are hand dyed and impress with their unique and original colour nuances. At GDS the label will be presenting women’s and men’s shoes as well as leather bags.(Hall 4 Stand W15)

Post & Co – Time Travel to Primeval Worlds
Flamboyant belts with buckles that look like jewels: an alloy combining the precious metal terbium with silver and antique brass creates enormous shine. Belonging to the Italian firm Art-Moda the brand Post & Co stands for a highquality and handmade limited collection with high design aspirations. With its new collection the label re-injects a sense of originality into urban life. Folkloric aspects teamed with archaic elements create accessories for demanding adventurers. Buckles are inspired by ethnic sculpture and feature conspicuous jewels while leathers are stonewashed and boast extreme embossing and perforations to give them a vintage effect. This produces unique and authentic pieces that take us on a journey back in time to distant, primeval worlds. (Hall 4 Stand W99)

Radical Boot – Revolutionary and Different
With its originality, artistic passion and verve British label Radical Boot blends the former worlds of biker and western boots. Extraordinary designs characterise its product ranges Exotic Skin, Western, Phoenix, Arizona and Biker. Depending on line quality warranties are offered of between a minimum of 90 days and a staggering twelve months. The products are handmade in Mexico using traditional methods and deploying the finest leathers and exotic hides.
