Jeweler's deal sparkles, pampers for Mother's Day

Albany, N.Y.--Northeastern Fine Jewelry in Albany, N.Y. has come up with a pampering promotion in order to encourage shoppers to go the jewelry route when shopping for mom this Mother's Day.

Any customer who spends $159 or more on jewelry for Mother's Day at any of Northeastern's four locations between May 6 and May 8 (just before Mother's Day on May 9) will receive a package that is sure to soothe even the most overworked mom, the jeweler announced in a press release.

In addition to a piece of fine jewelry, moms will receive a gift certificate for brunch at one of three Albany-area restaurants owned by Mazzone Management Group--the Glen Sanders Mansion, Prime at Saratoga National or the Hall of Springs (reservations are required, based on availability)--and a voucher for a facial and spring makeup application at the eco-friendly Complexions Day Spa that is good for 90 days.

If purchasers are unable to make it on Mother's Day, the gift certificate for one free brunch is valid through Aug. 8 at Prime at Saratoga National or at Angelo's Tavolo, another Mazzone-owned restaurant.

Northeastern seems to be on the right track. A just-released National Retail Federation consumer survey predicts that Mother's Day spending will rise this year, and that 26.2 percent of consumers are planning to buy jewelry, with combined purchases totaling $2.5 billion.

"Mothers deserve extra recognition for all they do throughout the year," Ray Bleser, Northeastern owner and founder, said in the release. "A thoughtfully selected and beautiful piece of jewelry will remind her of your appreciation each time she wears it. Combined with a lavish brunch at one of the area's finest restaurants and a rejuvenating facial at an environmentally friendly day spa, any mother would feel truly special on the day devoted to honoring her."
