Diamond Dealers Club's Jeanette Bronstein dies

Longtime Diamond Dealers Club staffer Jeanette Bronstein, 89, passed away Dec. 26.

New York--Jeanette Bronstein, a longtime employee of the Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) in New York, passed away Dec. 26 after a long illness. She was 89.

Bronstein joined the DDC as a bookkeeper in 1947. Over 35 years with the DDC, she was the go-to person for all aspects of members' needs. Bronstein was the assistant to the executive director, welcomed out-of-town visitors, managed the Benevolent Association and administered the DDC membership health plan.

She is also the mother of Alan Bronstein, one of the leading names in the natural fancy color diamond world. Through her relationships with the world's leading diamond merchants, Bronstein helped to open doors for her son, introducing him to industry members that would become his mentors and teachers.

After her retirement from the DDC in 1982, Jeanette helped Alan develop his business relationships and guide him in the diamond business ethics that she believed in. Through her inspiration, she pushed Alan forward in his dream to curate the 260-stone Aurora Pyramid of Hope, an assemblage of exceptional natural colored diamonds. He later curated the unique Butterfly of Peace Collection, an arrangement of 240 natural colored diamonds.

Those wishing to pay respect to Bronstein's memory can do so by making a contribution in her name to the charity of his or her choice.
