Jewelers Executive Conference announces 2010 date

Overland Park, Kan.--The 2010 Jewelers Executive Conference (JEC), a regional conference and show for jewelry store executives, managers, buyers and sales staff, will be held from March 20-21 at the Marriott Hotel in Overland Park, Kan.

According to JEC co-chairs Vicki Cunningham of Tulsa, Okla., and Tom Wright of Lincoln, Neb., the spacious meeting and display areas and the superior lighting at the newly renovated hotel allowed for more flexibility in planning the agenda.

One change for 2010 is the educational programming, which will be offered in three tracks: Marketing, People and Production, and Profitability. Jewelers of America Director of Education David Peters and Performance Concepts President Kate Peterson have agreed to coordinate the three educational tracks and have already been working with conference leaders to confirm presenters and topics for the educational sessions.

The conference will also include displays by 50 of the jewelry industry's premier suppliers. Cunningham said the revised agenda will provide jewelry storeowners, managers and decision-making executives more face-to-face time with these vendors.

The revised agenda will also give jewelers more opportunities to participate in informal networking opportunities, including an informal pre-conference dinner on Friday, and a hosted hospitality room open Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening after the planned dinners and programs.
