USA -- At American Boutiques’ L.A. in Burbank, Calif., that’s exactly what every customer can do, and Rain Frog Apparel is now a part of this unique fashion incubator.

Rain Frog Apparel, a bamboo fiber clothing company based in nearby Fullerton, Calif., has moved into a prominent space within the hip, inviting building, adding an ecofriendly edge to the store.

American Boutiques is the brainchild of Glow Rivera, creator of Volume Jeans, who has opened a large retail space where designers, sales reps, wholesalers, retailers, online stores, homebased businesses, artists and manufacturers are now gathering to showcase and sell their wares. When customers try on an item for size, a photographer will take a professional-quality photograph of the person wearing the item—and customers become instant celebrities within the American Boutiques environment.

Beyond the fashion photography, American Boutiques offers exciting possibilities for new designers. With Earth Day just a few short days away, Rain Frog Apparel’s founder, Karen E. Spaeder, is enthusiastic about the new venture. “Glow is all about helping emerging designers and artists to survive the current economic conditions,” says Spaeder, who is currently selling her line at local farmer’s markets and through the RainFrogApparel.com website. “Those who weather the so-called storm will emerge stronger and wiser.”

American Boutiques is also set to launch a series of on-site events and fashion shows to draw in new and repeat business.

Rain Frog Apparel is also joining in the movement to assist startup businesses by including additional lines in its “store within a store” at American Boutiques. Soy Terrific (SoyTerrific.com), a maker of soy candles, is now included in Rain Frog Apparel’s ecofriendly space, and Spaeder is inviting additional vendors to contact her if interested in selling their ecofriendly items at the boutique.

Rain Frog Apparel, started in February 2007, offers organic bamboo clothing for women and children. The company donates at least 1 percent of annual sales to environmental organizations through its membership in the nonprofit 1% for the Planet, a growing global consortium of hundreds of companies that donate to environmental causes.
