USA -- An investment group led by Windsong Brands LLC along with Marvin Traub Associates announced the formation of Falchi Holdings LLC (“Falchi”) which has acquired the Carlos Falchi brand worldwide and associated assets. Carlos Falchi will serve as the chief designer and creative director of the newly formed company.
William Sweedler, chairman & CEO of Windsong Brands, and Stuart Jamieson, managing director, will serve as co-chairman of Falchi. A new President/COO and EVP of sales will be announced in the near future.
“The newly established Falchi Holdings will ensure we have the financial strength and business acumen to build upon our successful core business of handbags and expand the Carlos Falchi brand into new relevant product categories,” said Carlos Falchi. “I’m pleased so many industry leaders have agreed to join with me in this new venture, including Bill Sweedler, Marvin Traub, Barry Sternlicht, and John Edelman.”
According to Bill Sweedler, “Windsong Brands completed comprehensive market research on the Carlos Falchi brand prior to the acquisition and it revealed significant growth opportunities within its current handbag business as well as new categories. We have had strong licensing interest in many brand extensions including footwear, apparel, outerwear, jewelry, small leather goods and home products.”
Stuart Jamieson added, “I’m very excited by the marketing initiatives to reinvigorate the Carlos Falchi brand. The handbags have led the market in style, innovation and customer brand loyalty. Our goal is to build on that essence and DNA as we grow the brand that was created with retail partners such as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.”
Marvin Traub stated that “Carlos Falchi is an icon in the luxury handbag market. I look forward to working with the entire team.”
